RYSE (helloryse.com) is a Toronto-based technology company creating the next wave of smart home products. We’re about inventing new ‘Things’ and re-writing the rules in Hardware. Our flagship product, the RYSE SmartShade was launched as a smart device that motorizes and automates existing window coverings and is controllable via smartphone and integrated with smart home ecosystems, including Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit. We are continuously introducing new products in the window shades space with several ongoing projects in various stages of design and manufacturing.
RYSE is looking for a candidate to lead Business Development & Partnerships, one excited to join an early-stage start-up with huge potential for growth. This is a challenging position, as you will be responsible for pitching and closing business for new products and technology and developing the market.
Responsibilities will include leading our growth efforts primarily in B2B sales, lead generation, market research & analysis, go-to-market analysis, and managing strategic partnerships. List of duties & responsibilities includes:
- Manage existing accounts, and establish book of repeat customers
- Conduct product demos, pitches, and presentations, to educate prospects
- Researching and developing go-to-market strategies in local and international markets, including devising growth strategies
- Developing sales material, pitch decks, presentations
- Understand the purchase process of specific channel partners, and identify key decision-makers to close sales
- Craft a compelling narrative to communicate the value to key decision-makers
- Managing key channel partner relations, including retail, dealers, e-commerce, strategic partners/distributors, smart home platform partners
- Develop and execute against a strategic plan that leads to the creation and maintenance of a robust sales pipeline
- Source new sales opportunities through outbound cold calls, emails, in-person visits, as well as inbound lead follow-ups
- Create, manage, and close your funnel to consistently meet or exceed revenue targets or strategic goals
Compensation: Base + Commission + Bonus + Stock Options
- Candidate must be very social, extroverted, out-going
- Self starter with the drive to exceed expectations
- Candidate must be comfortable cold-calling, and is strong in communicating and articulating concepts
- An understanding of the smart home space and technology, including key technologies (i.e. ZigBee, Z-Wave, Matter, Thread)
- Minimum 2 years experience with sales or relevant field required
- Successful experience in asking open-ended discovery questions and uncovering business challenges that provide quantitative business value/impact
- Ability to travel within US/Canada and Europe as needed
- Knowledge in lead generation via LinkedIn required
