About The Role:
Neo Financial has an opportunity for a full-time Fincrimes Operations Lead to join the team in Calgary. The Fincrimes Operations Lead is part of the Risk and Compliance team; a team dedicated to the proactive and reactive detection of fraudulent and anti-money laundering activity to protect Neo customers while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
What you'll be doing:

• Build and maintain schedules for the team and ensure adherence
• Support training to ensure the team is efficient and up to date on workflows and fincrimes detection
• Report daily numbers, trends, and developments in the team to lead and ensure that alerts are firing correctly and KPIs are met
• Lead by example by taking escalations on the phone, answering complaint emails, or doing whatever it takes to provide our customers with a unique customer experience and safeguarding the company from fraud and money laundering
• Build open, honest, and authentic relationships with your team and other leaders within the company to drive success
• Monitor data, alerts, and reporting to ensure rules are firing correctly
• Embrace and drive key changes and continuous improvement through adapting processes and tools as well as keeping your team aware and trained on key changes
• Develop and mentor the team of Specialists and Senior Specialists to build skills and strategies around fincrime detection and create an environment where your team thrives and hits their potential

Who we're looking for:

• Adept with navigating intermediate computer systems and engines
• Knowledge of Google Sheets and basic SQL is an asset
• You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills with acute attention to detail
• You’re organized and capable of prioritizing tasks in a dynamic work environment
• You relate well to people from all backgrounds and foster a teamwork approach
• Intellectually curious, and enjoys asking questions to identify the root cause of problems
• You demonstrate the ability to handle customer issues resourcefully and with compassion, polished communication, and empathy
• French Bilingual is an asset
• You have 3 or more years of experience in a Fincrime role (Fraud or AML) and at least 1-year experience supervising or leading teams
• University Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, or other relevant fields is an asset
• You take ownership of problems, are quick to understand when you need support, and fast to work towards a solution
