Responsibilities

As a Financial Analyst, you will:

  • Prepare and review journal entries related to inventory and cost of goods sold, along with relevant reports and analyses.
  • Assist supply chain and procurement teams.

  • Compare and review actual production and packaging labor costs against standards.
  • Support capital appropriation requests with financial analysis and guidance through the capital process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance cost accounting systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and modeling.
  • Analyze production cost changes against targets and explain the reasons behind them, including overhead variance analysis.
  • Assist in setting cost standards for new products or changes to existing products, sharing data and comparisons with Finance and Operations teams.
  • Regularly calculate direct labor and manufacturing overhead rates for each location and update relevant ERP, quoting, and accounting systems.
  • Analyze and report on inventory purchases and usage, collaborating with operations to understand and explain variances.
  • Develop and maintain Inventory and Cost Accounting reports and assist in report generation.
  • Identify products that are falling below margin expectations.
  • Ensure manufacturing reporting system changes are accurately reflected for product cost and inventory valuation.
  • Manage and update accounting and costing master data for all materials, including Raw Materials, Work-in-Progress (WIP), and Finished Goods.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Effective communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex financial insights to senior operations and finance stakeholders.
  • Solid grasp of manufacturing accounting principles and the ability to uphold a strong compliance environment.
  • Strong preference for experience in pharmaceutical or consumer products industries.
  • A university degree in Finance or Business.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial systems (experience with ERP is a plus).
  • Resourcefulness and ability to work independently in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • A proactive and ambitious mindset, taking ownership of both short-term and long-term goals while thriving under pressure.
