Robert Half is seeking skilled candidates for a Financial Analyst position at a thriving company in the Not for Profit industry. Looking for work where you can become a key business partner in forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management? This Financial Analyst position might be right for you. The strongest candidates for this position will be comfortable with conducting financial modeling on various financial products, as well as measuring, analyzing and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans. You will also advise management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and prepare reports for management. This Financial Analyst role is a long-term contract / temporary employment opportunity and is located in the East York, Ontario, area.
What you get to do every day

• Monitor monthly and quarterly performance by comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources effectively
• Flexible candidate that can organize a vast amount of information while managing high expectations
• Power monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required
• Participate in planning with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization
• Discover the root causes of internal and external facts that are influencing performance and outcomes
• Assess potential risks and opportunities and research performance
• Compose and oversee forecasting reports
• Support weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting
• Operate with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process
• Enable effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide decision making support
• Work next to cross-functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans

Requirements

• Excel Formulas experience
• Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
• Experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
• Skilled in Spreadsheet and ERP system
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
• Intercompany Eliminations experience preferred
• BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
• Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience preferable)
• Understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required
• Solid understanding of Excel VBA
• Deep understanding of Microsoft Excel
• Eager problem-solver who listens for customer cues and actively resolves problems with grace and integrity
