About the Position
Based in Burnaby BC (although this position is not 100% office based, as we offer flexible work from home options), and reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Analyst will be part of the Western Canadian CFO team, with personnel in Vancouver, Burnaby, Calgary, Saskatoon and Winnipeg plus other remote positions. The successful applicant will maintain and distribute existing reporting and analysis as related to financial and operational metrics. The primary responsibilities include:
- Improve upon existing and implement new reporting as requested by management
- Provide ad-hoc financial and operational analysis to support business decisions
- Research, identify, and communicate key variances relating to financial and operational metrics
- Involvement in merger & acquisition integration and accounting
- Liaise between finance and operations concerning transaction processing in the business management system
- Participate in the month-end close process; including financial variance analysis to budget and prior periods as well as forecasting
- Participate in annual budget process
- Various other assignments, as required
Position Requirements
- CPA designation preferred with 4-5 years of experience
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities
- Advanced MS Excel skills with minimum 3 years practical use in finance related position
- Strong communication skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
