WHAT WE REQUIRE:
Reporting to the Controller, the Financial Analyst role focuses on the successful planning, developing, coordination, and implementation of specific financial reporting and analysis, while ensuring compliance with company accounting procedures, the internal control environment, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles/IFRS, and Federal and Provincial legislation.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate and prepare financial forecasts and annual budgets.
- Prepare analyze various Operational and Financial Measurement reports.
- Responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial results and analysis.
- Take large amounts of complex information from multiple sources and produce simple and easy-to-understand explanations of business results.
- Acts as a business partner to management and other stakeholders providing insight into key financial decisions.
- Analysis of financial results and provide explanations on major variances to budget/forecast.
- Preparation of period end journal entries to support the period end close process.
- Build financial models that consider multiple drivers and relay those drivers into accurate forecasts.
- Preparation of ad hoc analysis to support overall department objectives and initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Self-starter who takes initiative with a professional and positive attitude.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of Payworks and CDK operating/accounting system is an asset.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP/IFRS.
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
- Post-secondary education in Finance and/or Accounting.
- Knowledge of Provincial and Federal financial regulations.
- Experience in the heavy equipment or retail auto industry is an asset.
- CPA designation or in final stages of completion.
- Working knowledge of budgeting and forecasting process.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
