Job Summary
conversationHEALTH (part of Real Chemistry) is hiring a Finance Manager to expand our agile Finance team and provide our business partners with new levels of insight and guidance. The Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in executing our core business processes and will be responsible for assisting with various areas, including month-end close, monthly performance reporting, forecasting, financial analysis, revenue operations and compliance with local Canadian requirements. You will work closely with the entire Finance and Accounting team and cross-functionally with our Sales, Customer & Delivery and Legal teams to ensure all finance and revenue processes are accurately tracked and executed to support and enable our business partners. We seek a proactive problem solver with advanced analytics skills who can prepare, manipulate, and automate data to uncover meaningful insights and improve processes along the way. T his role is ideal for someone with an understanding of SaaS business models, has a strong financial background and who is passionate about maximizing efficiencies and supporting the foundations of a thriving business.

  • All candidates need to be eligible to work in Canada where the conversationHEALTH team is based. This is a hybrid role that will work onsite in our Toronto office at least once every two weeks.
What You’ll Do
  • Assist in tracking of client deliverables for proper invoicing and revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to gather data and prepare related schedules and dashboards for the company’s monthly and quarterly performance reviews.
  • Work with Accounting to provide inputs into the financial close (accruals, reconciliations, journal entry guidance) and understand key drivers versus Budget and Forecast.
  • Support internal partners with timely input and ad hoc analysis to keep the business moving forward briskly and smoothly.
  • Support sales team with contract preparation and reviews.
  • Manage all aspects of Commission planning (monthly accruals and forecasting, quarterly payments, annual plan development).
  • Ensure timely billing of client projects; manage working capital including AR aging and WIP/Unbilled AR.
  • Assist with recurring monthly reporting, modeling and forecasting in partnership with department leaders.
  • Maintain existing models and suggest new methods or improvements to current processes to drive efficiencies.
  • Lead special projects and improvements to existing processes as the business segment continues to grow and scale.
  • Develop, refresh and maintain performance dashboards and reconcile client account activity to projections and anticipated business developments.

What You Should Have
  • 5 + years of professional experience in Finance/Accounting or FP&A.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and procedures.
  • Must possess and exercise sound judgement and a high level of integrity as an independent contributor and leader.
  • Experience in various data applications and ERPs (Excel, QuickBooks, Expensify, ADP, NetSuite, etc.).
  • A self-starter who can multitask, think creatively to formulate solutions and adapt effortlessly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian Accounting and regulatory requirements.
  • Confidence in reviewing and negotiating client contracts with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical disposition with high attention to detail, accuracy and organization .
  • Able to calmly manage and prioritize time sensitive duties.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting or a relevant field. (CPA or CPA candidate preferred)
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (i.e. SUMPRODUCT, SUMIFS, INDEX MATCH, etc.).
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, accounting processes, controls and compliance.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with management, colleagues and clients.
  • A problem solver who can think creatively in the face of obstacles and offers recommendations on process improvements.
