We are seeking Engineering Students for our Calgary District within our Canadian Buildings Division that are available for a minimum of 4 months starting in September 2023. Please note that this position is specifically located in Sparwood, British Columbia and not in Calgary, Alberta.
Here's how an Engineering Student for our Calgary district contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
Project Coordination:

• Participate in project meetings
• Input / update deficiency logs
• Take / coordinate progress photos
• Coordinate work specific scope / trades
• Conduct deficiency walks
• Produce as-built drawings
• Conduct trade quote reviews – verify material quantities, verify hours, verify rates
• Coordinate drawings
• Issue warranties
• Update field drawings

Field Coordination:

• Supervise sub-trade work
• Perform quantity takeoffs
• Set-up / maintain record keeping
• Verify site conditions and coordinate with drawings
• Layout site lines and grades using total station
• Coordinate sub-trade work

Scheduling:

• Update project schedules
• Create and maintain graphical scheduling using AutoCAD
• Create and update schedules using Suretrak software
• Monitor workforce productivity
• Obtain scheduling information from sub-trades
• Create manual schedules

Qualifications

• Access to a personal vehicle is required for this position.
• Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset
• Willingness to relocate to BC for the duration of the work term.
• Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting
