Be responsible for performing bid day assignments and overall bid document control. Everyone at PCL takes ownership and that includes students.

Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.

Support discussions and meetings with subcontractors, vendors, customers, and management and collect and update data for internal client databases

Liaise with project stakeholders to collect requirements and maintain effective communication

You have or are in the process of pursuing post-secondary education in engineering, science, or a related field

You have strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook)

You have excellent relationship building skills that connect with all levels of the organization and foster an inclusive culture

Strong AutoCAD drafting skills plus experience reviewing drawings and specifications.

Completes orders and configures projects in ERP systems based on customer requirements to trigger order fulfillment and production activities

Manages work effectively within time constraints

Post-secondary education in a relevant technical field

1-3 years’ experience in a technical field (product, design, drafting)

Strong experience with Microsoft Office applications and imaging applications

Strong verbal and written communications skills

Previous engineering or field experience is considered an asset

Establish cost estimates, spend profiles and accruals

Review and perform HAZOP’s of engineering packages

Ability to manage and execute transportation of project material from supplier facility to project location, and interface with site personnel.

Heavy industrial experience would be considered an asset

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Application of various computer software programs will be required, including Microsoft Suite. Knowledge of AutoCAD and Bluebeam is an asset.

Assisting with project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and cost control.

Assisting with the identification and resolution of field technical issues.

Acting as an ambassador for the various safety campaigns.

Communicating changes with trades staff.

Set-up / Maintain record keeping.

Experience with the application of various computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.

Prior field construction experience is considered an asset.

Coordinates and supervises sub-trade work.

Takes and coordinates progress photos.

Tracks site progress and deficiencies.

Verifies site conditions and coordinates with drawings.

General knowledge of terminology related to project management and power system engineering policies and procedures.

Customer service focus supported by solid organizational and time management skills in order to prioritize numerous projects and competing demands.

Ability to apply judgment in determining appropriate procedures and requirements for various distribution projects.

Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Office, SAP and AM/FM.

Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders; this includes good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Motivated self-starters with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously

Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels and partners

Working towards an Undergraduate degree in Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Environmental Engineering
