Be a direct support to the Division Manager in all related areas.

Help manage, organize, and assemble QNQC paperwork necessary for final customer turnover packages.

Experience in preparation of technical reports and/or engineering design reports.

Strong technical and trouble-shooting skills.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to work well under time constraints.

Assist with the assembly of estimates, supplier solicitation, and material takeoffs.

Currently enrolled in a university or technical college diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

Experience in the construction industry is a strong asset

Beginner knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings, building materials and required standards applicable to the project.

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).

Support Maintenance dept with pro-active reporting stewardship, site safety loss prevention observations, and support for site safety, security, and environmental programs.

Participating in safety programs/meetings and attending training

Support journeyman mechanic with day-to-day activities

Grade 12 high school diploma or GED equivalent is required

Valid driver's license and a safe driving record are required for this position

For operations, 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate is an asset

Able to use common office computer applications including spreadsheets and Maintenance information management systems

Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers.

Written and verbal communication skills to write reports and present information in a clear and direct manner

Language Requirement: English oral, reading, writing

Computer software applications such as MS Office Suite and drafting software

Able to conduct research, sort and categorize findings

Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries.

Currently enrolled in an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering co-op program

 Experience with version control systems (Github) and other software development tools.

 Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

 Strong written and verbal communication skills.

 Project experience using STMCubeIDE and the associated API’s (HAL & LL)

 Experience working with RFID/NFC MiFare Tags

Effective verbal and written communication skills and familiarity with PC applications including Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, SharePoint

Must be a self-motivated individual who is able to work effectively under minimal supervision

Must have a valid Class 5 Drivers’ License

Experience in general operation of office equipment, i.e. fax, photocopier, etc.

Assisting with Engineering estimates, studies, reviews, etc

Assisting with construction inspection of Capital projects

Prepare drawings using AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS

Fluent knowledge of both spoken and written English is required and French is an asset 

Experience with one or more of the following elements would be an asset: 

Programming skills (Python, Java, SQL, Perl, Matlab, C)

Acting as an ambassador for the various safety campaigns.

Participate in regular training to improve performance, acquire professional licenses and maintain certification required by company and government regulations.

Communicate clearly and effectively with other power plant personnel, including managers, engineers and repair technicians to encourage teamwork and coordinate tasks.

Grade 12 diploma or GED, with a minimum of 3 years of work experience in power generation. Equivalencies may be considered.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Control a variety of power-generation equipment and machinery during normal operation, scheduled maintenance and emergency repair procedures.

Oversee machinery indicators to determine existence of malfunctions or suboptimal performance, and initiate appropriate repair procedures when necessary.

Experience with the application of various computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.

Prior field construction experience is considered an asset.

Coordinates and supervises sub-trade work.

Takes and coordinates progress photos.

Tracks site progress and deficiencies.

Verifies site conditions and coordinates with drawings.

Understanding and abiding by all safety rules and standards, reporting hazards

Monitoring of social media, arranging community engagement, admin support

Working as part of socioeconomic team

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

Complete daily Health and Safety documentation

Inspect and document the overall physical state of non- structural culverts

Input data captured in the field into a database onsite
