Electrical Engineer (Energy Matters)

• Hitachi STS Canada is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Electrical Engineer (Energy Matters) who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of engineering tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Toronto, ON Canada.

• Qualifications
• Ontario Professional Engineer with the PEO certification
• Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
• Must be able to work minimum 3 days a week from a Downtown Toronto office
• Languages
• Working knowledge of electrical and energy management standards, incl. Canadian Electrical Safety Code and ISO 50000 series
• Actively monitor requirement specifications and integration compliance within the project and system disciplines
• Canadian citizen or permanent resident
• Skills and Competencies
• In depth understanding of electrical systems, SCADA interfaces, energy metering and sub-metering systems
• Develop energy management system, including data collection and maintenance, real-time dashboard, energy performance indicators, changes in patterns, etc.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite, scheduling software (MS Project or Primavera), requirements management systems
• Facilitate design and development of electrical systems, such as grounding, bonding, lightning protection and stray current
• Fluent in English - written and spoken
• 4+ years of progressive experience in electrical systems, energy management, power/renewables, and sustainability
• Develop processes and tools to generate annual energy repots
• Success with balancing priorities and multi-tasking in a matrix organization
• Post-secondary degree/diploma in electrical engineering from an accredited university or college
• Responsibilities
• Italian is an asset
• Effective relationships and communication skills
• Business acumen to understand business risks and challenges
