Controls Engineer Jobs

Day to Day:

Insight Global is seeking multiple Controls Engineers for a large Automotive OEM in Ingersoll, ON. This group will be integral in standing up the plant which will be responsible for building battery packs for electric vehicles. Controls Engineers will be partnering with suppliers to collect and deliver equipment to the plant, in addition to installations, running functional tests, and supporting a minimum of 70 PLCs and 20 robots.

Core Responsibilities:

• Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology
• Existing program/site support (troubleshooting, etc.)
• Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high quality parts
• Provide project report outs to senior management
• Design and troubleshooting of electrical controls systems
• Manage deliveries to program timing milestones
• Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with all customers/plants

Must-Haves:

- 3-5 years of recent and relevant experience

- Automotive manufacturing background (either OEM or a supplier)

- Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation PLCs

- HMI Programming (Siemens)

- Servo drivers

- Ethernet experience

- Robotics or vision experience

- GM certifications and/or previous GM work experience (direct or through a supplier) - GCCH-1, GCCS-2
