Job Description
We are looking for a Director, Revenue Accounting Operations to oversee all operations across both the eCommerce and Sales-Enabled revenue lifecycle of the global business. You will provide guidance and direction to the teams on the entire Revenue Lifecycle, including Order Management, Credit Checks, Credit Card Dispute processing, Billing, Collections and Cash application. The successful candidate will operate effectively in a fast-moving environment and be well versed in the technical and operational details of the order to cash process in a SaaS organization. While working remotely or in a hybrid work arrangement, a blend of virtual (in accordance with Hootsuite's distributed workforce strategy), and/or in one of Hootsuite's offices in Canada or the US, you will report to our VP, Revenue Operations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Collaborate and communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, acting as a main point of contact to resolve complex related matters with management and others across the organization
  • Act as the main point of contact for external auditors, as required, in matters related to order-to-cash.
  • Provide strategic inputs, analyses and insights for revenue and cash forecasting
  • Lead a team of business process managers ensuring they are performing at the highest standard.
  • Establish framework and authorize implementation of various policies, procedures and guidelines in related work areas
  • Develop the strategy to perform best-in-class Quote to Cash processes to create a competitive advantage and operational scale across the eCommerce and Sales Enabled businesses
  • Identify and lead strategic initiatives in order to optimize revenue across both eCommerce and Sales Enabled revenue lifecycle.
  • Develop the Revenue Accounting Operations team, including ongoing career development plans, coaching, and long-term project prioritization. Manage reporting staff, including selection, mentoring, performance management and all other people-management practices, including DE&I.
  • Drive operational excellence into the eCommerce revenue lifecycle through a focus on credit card processing, with a goal to optimize authorization rates, reduce fees and chargebacks and disputes
  • Lead cross functional teams to solve complex issues and optimize order management, revenue recognition, billing and collections, and reporting processes
  • Present to the senior and Executive team on a monthly basis.
  • Lead the team to ensure key objectives are achieved as well as ensuring that month-end and quarter-end revenue close is performed on time and accurately.
  • Ensure internal controls are in place across the revenue cycle and that standard operating procedures exist and are documented
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • You thrive in fast-paced and highly collaborative environments and have a strategic mindset while focusing on operational efficiency and process improvement
  • Experience with high volume eCommerce transaction models as well as more traditional Enterprise sales models is preferred.
  • Advanced level professional and specialized experience in revenue accounting, operations, billing, and collections in a tech company with both eCommerce and Sales Enabled B2B SaaS businesses
  • Proven experience with Salesforce.com and/or NetSuite is preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition standards (ASC 606) and policies
  • CPA-CA certification is preferred
  • Experience leading and developing teams
