ROLE OVERVIEW AND BACKGROUND

This is an exciting opportunity for a strong leader to set the vision and strategy within North America! The Director, Procurement is responsible for the establishment of purchasing strategies and best practices that are aligned with the global procurement strategic vision. This critical role will proactively engage and partner with internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve desired outcomes. This leader will build, inspire and develop team capabilities and processes that deliver results and continue to develop the culture.

KEY DELIVERABLES

• Update procurement strategies based on changing market conditions.
• Responsible for development, implementation and tracking of sustainable sourcing
• Analyze market and delivery trends to develop procurement technologies and processes that support those trends.
• Drive the execution of sourcing and procurement strategies to ensure consistent and high-quality value delivery.
• Oversee contract development, review processes and utilize appropriate support tools to enhance sustainable results
• Implement best practices in sourcing, purchasing and supplier management to support commercial and operational objectives.
• Monitor category purchasing reports and ensure compliance with appropriate established policies and procedures on a continuous basis
• Negotiate and manage key supplier relationships and regional supply contracts.
• Lead cross-functional teams, interact cross-functionally with all other departments,
• Promote continuous improvement/cost reductions on a regular and proactive basis.
• Build, develop and motivate the team
• Work with leadership to establish departmental KPIs.
• Oversee the development and execution of procurement strategies across all categories within span of control including targets, timelines and resources.
• Maintain strong working relationships with strategic suppliers to ensure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.
• Identify areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
• Ensure the execution of standards, controls, policies, procedures and performance metrics to effectively manage the acquisition and reporting of third-party spend across the company.
• Identify and focus on: margin improvement, risk reduction, resource access, innovation, sustainability, etc.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• CIPSand/or CSCMP. Certification is preferred.
• Experience with developing and implementing successful cost saving initiatives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen understanding of relevant cost drivers.
• Good knowledge of legal environment related to purchasing contracts and framework agreements.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance or Business, MBA a plus.
• 10+ years of progressive supply chain/purchasing experience.
• Strong command of vendor performance management and contract administration.
• Experience with high-mix, low-volume purchasing and contract negotiation experience across a range of services and commodities.
• Good understanding of procurement and sourcing trends and best practices.
