Job Description

About Stepped Care Solutions

We are a mission-driven company and the creators of SC2.0 - a transformative model that fundamentally reimagines mental health systems. We are dedicated to collaborating with organizations and communities to guide the design and implementation of accessible, flexible, culturally relevant, and high-quality mental health and wellness resources and services. Our team is globally recognized for their leadership in transforming mental health systems, their clinical expertise, and their proficiency in implementation science.

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Director of Product Development who has extensive experience managing internal and external teams with a desire to work in a non-profit environment. The Director of Product Development will be responsible for the leadership and oversight of the product and UX strategies and roadmaps. The Director will work across initiatives at Stepped Care Solutions, with a primary focus on the Wellness Together Canada program.

This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, planning and oversight, experience managing large SaaS and Technology Service Providers, digital product management, and the ability to manage and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet our strategic objectives. We are a principles based, mission-oriented organization working on innovative solutions for mental health and wellbeing. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and rapidly evolving organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for a user-centric, agile approach to product design and delivery among internal and external stakeholders
  • Oversee and drive the overall product and UX strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with our mission and vision
  • Collaborate across diverse teams
  • Effectively communicate key changes and progress to internal and external groups
  • Collaborate and direct external vendor contracts (Hosting and Cloud computing)
  • Develop and implement smart, relevant, and quantifiable success metrics for all initiatives, monitor and track performance, and make improvements as needed.
  • Develop and oversee strong and effective customer support processes
  • Identify, prioritize, and plan features and enhancements, through data informed decision making, based on analytics, market research and user feedback
  • Serve as a leader and mentor within the product delivery and U/X teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Utilize the SC2.0 principles, model, and SMEs to ensure strategies and plans will promote well-being everywhere, and offer options and choice for people to manage their mental health

You Bring:

  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to work with a variety of different approaches and groups
  • Proven track record of balancing the delivery of long-term goals and short-term objectives
  • Superior knowledge with a range of tools to support a 24/7/365 digital platform that provides services and resources
  • Years of experience (10+) with product development and UX, and at least 10 years in a managerial role.
  • Strategic thinking, while also being able to manage detail
  • Data driven decision-making experience and values
  • Knowledge or interest in mental health service systems
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and launching successful digital products and applying research to build exceptional, user-centric solutions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • In-depth knowledge of systems design, product development lifecycle, digital project management and agile methodologies.
  • Comfort and keenness to work in a collaborative, matrix environment, and skilled with change management practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, and external vendors.

Our unique advantage stems from our deep knowledge and extensive experience in applying the SC2.0 model to complex system transformations. We challenge the usual mental health medical model by helping organizations develop person-centric systems focused on empowerment and decision-making control for service users.

We embrace a holistic and synergistic approach to mental health care, acknowledging the abundance of healing resources that lead to access, equity, and flexibility in mental health systems. We believe in the importance of incorporating informal services and peer support, valuing a diverse range of expertise to create a comprehensive and effective system.

At Stepped Care Solutions, our actions are shaped by three core values that drive us toward our vision of Wellbeing Everywhere:

  1. Mission First - We commit to prioritizing the SCS mission, while embracing challenges and constantly improving our processes. Our team stays updated with best practices, ensuring efficient and effective support for colleagues and clients.
  2. Better Together - We recognize the power of collaboration and value diverse ideas and perspectives. Our team checks in with one another, offers assistance, and provides direct, gracious feedback, appreciating each member’s strengths and contributions.
  3. Context Matters - We understand the importance of considering the bigger picture and contextual backdrop for informed decision-making. Our team adopts a holistic approach, going beyond isolated details, to consider the broad impact of our choices.

Working Conditions

  • No two days are alike. We are a passionate group of people who are invested in change, continuous improvement, and transforming mental health systems!
  • Full, competitive benefits, SCS has a flexible work environment with generous vacation time.
  • Work remotely from anywhere in Canada with the ability to support the core business hours, our team maximizes technology to work collaboratively with others.
  • Future travel may be required.

Workplace Diversity, Inclusion & Equality

SCS is committed to fostering a diverse inclusive culture. Consistent with our stepped care philosophy we believe in the unique contributions that people can bring in terms of their education, opinions, culture, ethnicity, race, sex, gender identity and expression, nation of origin, age, languages spoken, veteran’s status, color, religion, disability, sexual orientation and beliefs.

Accessibility

SCS welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities. Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process. If you are a person with a disability and require accommodation during the process, please contact Karlene Harry, [email protected]
