Design Coordinator Jobs

Our client within the construction industry is seeking to add a Design Coordinator to their team in Cornwall, ON. This role will be in office full-time and requires you to travel to various site locations when necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Write and present proposals for services
• Manage the client’s requirements, make the various connections between the different disciplines and ensure that the requirements are met
• Analyze potential opportunities and provide design solutions
• Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection on the project to assist the project managers
• Identified and coordinate all required development approvals
• Provide conceptual design options to clients for design-build projects
• Act as the lead architectural technologist for the junior technologists
• Act as prime contact with owners for smaller projects and perform construction administration duties
• Assist in ensuring the successful completion of the project and provide project coordinator services throughout the project
• Manage the design development process including coordination with other design disciplines
• Help to establish and track project schedules, costs estimates and construction

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of building codes and other associated regulations
• Strong experience managing client expectations through the design process
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in construction software (office suite, AutoCAD, Revit, etc)
• BCIN is considered an asset
• Experience supervising design staff and technologists preferred
• Valid driver's license with clean record
• Knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, materials, negotiation, engineering, building codes, scheduling and safety)
• Ability to create functional floor plans, interior designs and comment on exterior esthetics of buildings design
• Ability to manage a project and stakeholders involved, including your own team
• Degree or Diploma in architecture, interior design, engineering or related field
• Experience with a variety of project delivery methods, including design build
