Data Visualization Analyst
$62,255.85 - $70,557.73 annually
The Office of the Provincial Health Officer (OPHO) is committed to Truth and Reconciliation. The OPHO works in meaningful partnership with Indigenous peoples to disrupt colonial structures and advance Indigenous health equity. The OPHO has partnerships with the First Nations Health Authority and Métis Nation BC to pursue collaborative projects and develop reports on Indigenous health, wellness and determinants of health.
The Data Visualization Analyst will support BC’s population health surveillance analytics and informatics capacity through research and data visualization contributions to internal and external reports. This position may be involved in developing tools, such as data visualization templates and R/Python scripts, to improve the team’s visualization workflow. This role works closely with other Data and Analytics team members, the OPHO Report Team and external partners, including Indigenous organizations.

Qualifications for this role include:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, physical sciences, engineering, computer science, health information science, public health, or relevant field, and at least 6 months in each of *related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and 1 year in each of the *related experience.
*Related experience must include all of the following:
- Experience creating data visualization products (e.g. charts, plots, or tables) in R, Python, MATLAB, Excel or similar software.
- Experience working with data in R, Python, SQL, Java, C, MATLAB, or similar programming languages.
