Position Overview


Under the direction of the Materials Manager, this position is responsible for the requisitioning of supplies, inventory control, cost analysis, assisting with coordination of the acquisition of new supplies and equipment, and assisting with specific projects between nursing and other Hospital departments.


Experience


  • Minimum three (3) years direct related experience in a computerized purchasing/materials management environment.
  • Previous experience in inventory control required.


Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)


  • Completion of Level 1 Purchasing Management Association of Canada, (PMAC) is preferred.
  • Business Administrative Assistant course, or other related course would be an asset.
  • Grade 12 education.

Qualifications And Skills


  • Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office suite specifically Microsoft Excel, and the Internet.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to type accurately 50 w.p.m.
  • Excellent spelling and grammatical skills.


Physical Requirements


  • Good physical and mental health.


This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
