Construction Safety Officer Jobs

Landmark Group established in 1992, has developed and serviced nearly 30 community-oriented projects in Alberta and British Columbia, spreading over 5,000 acres of land while contributing to each local community's social footprint and urban development. Our upcoming Kelowna townhouse projects has 72 units, the duration of the project is 2.5-3 years.

We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety Officer to oversee company safety protocols. The ideal candidate for this position will have previous experience serving in a safety officer role, along with the ability to promote a safe working environment to employees that promotes a collaborative work atmosphere.

Responsibility:

●Conduct site orientations, safety meetings and site inspections;

●Create safe work practices and procedures

●Evaluate and monitor health and safety hazards and develop strategies to control risks.

●Investigate unsafe conditions on construction sites; Report accidents, unsafe conditions, and unsafe acts.

●Complete safety reports daily/weekly; Establish standards for evaluating health and safety risks.

●Ensure proper safety training/certification of workers.

●Plan, design, develop, implement, and evaluate workplace activities to ensure that workers comply with company policies and government safety regulations.

Requirement:

●Strong understanding of the Worksafe BC Policies and Procedures.

●A level three First Aid.

●A Minimum four years experience as a Safety officer within British Columbia of construction technique and methodology

●Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

●Highly organized and detail oriented, solution-oriented, aptitude for multi-tasking and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

●Education in Occupational Health and Safety or Risk Management.

●Working knowledge of safety management information system.

●Ability to deliver construction schedules and budgets.

●Commitment to safety; High performance individual with a strong sense of urgency.
