Construction Project Coordinator (Part-Time)

Are you passionate about project coordination and the coordination of pre-construction activities? If yes, we are looking for someone like you to join our team!
As a construction project coordinator, you will be dedicated to a new big box store’s tenant improvement project in Greater Montreal. The role is responsible for coordination of pre-construction activities, thorough documentation, site visits and project coordination. This role reports directly to the construction manager and works closely with the senior coordinator.

What they see and feel when they walk into a Best Buy Canada location - that's the work of our store experience and construction teams. This role requires the successful candidate to be located in Montreal, Quebec.
What you’ll do:

• Work 20 to 30 hours per week from August 2023 to July 2024.
• Divide your time between the site (in Ville d’Anjou) and work from home as per project requirements.
• Document, file and monitor the project details and documents.
• Tracking the shop drawing submissions, review, and timely approvals.
• Review documents provided in French by contractor, trades, city, etc.
• Provide technical support to the construction manager with regards to scheduling, cost control, document review and coordination of deliveries of owner supplied materials.
• Provide administrative support by preparing and reviewing notices of change, review change order pricing, market research for cost comparatives, processing progress claims and Invoices.
• Track the RFI and coordinate with stakeholders to receive a timely response.
• Be a conduit for communications with French-speaking individuals throughout the project.
• Review and report site conditions and progress.

What we‘re looking for:

• Experience in creating documentation with strong attention to detail.
• Fluency in English and French is a must.
• Be able to drive and have access to a vehicle with a valid driver’s license.
• 1+ years of previous experience in a similar role or working dynamics.
• Ability to read and understand architectural and engineering drawings in English and French.
• Meet deadlines in a timely manner.
• Work independently while also collaborating with the team in BC.
