Academic Part-time Position
We Are Hiring Instructors For The Courses Listed Below
We require qualified individuals to join the Conestoga Interdisciplinary Studies team to teach the credit courses using experiential delivery. These cohorts begin throughout the Fall 2023 term beginning September 25th or later. The students will be in our General Arts and Science Program.

• COMM1085 College Reading and Writing Skills
• CDEV1840 Career Development

This program is delivered using a modular format which means individuals must be available for daily instruction over a 2–4-week period at set times throughout the semester. Instruction will be fully online classes (4 hours, 2 times/week plus 3 hours, 2 times/week), and the remaining hours will be asynchronous (self-directed by the student).
As these courses are pre-scheduled, candidates must be available to work Monday to Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Responsibilities

• Evaluate student progress/achievement, assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the student's work within the assigned course, and maintain records as required
• Support students in the use of eConestoga, the learning management system (D2L), as well as maintain course materials within this system
• Create and maintain a positive learning environment which supports the diversity of students’ cultures, educational backgrounds, and learning styles
• Ensure student awareness of course objectives, instructional approach, and evaluation systems
• Carry out regularly scheduled instruction according to the format prescribed for the course, including online, classroom, and computer-assisted lab lessons
• Collaborate and build relations with other program faculty

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, intercultural, and collaborative skills
• Strong computer skills and an understanding of the D2L learning platform
• Experience teaching adults in college environments
• Master’s Degree in Humanities, Social Sciences, Communication, or Adult Education with relevant experience in one of the course(s) listed above
• Effective administrative skills to include constructive feedback, academic grading, and maintaining student records
• Proven coaching or mentoring skills
• Ability to work on a team to deliver a dynamic interactive course in a modular format
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, intercultural, and collaborative skills
