Construction Controller Jobs

Our established construction company located in downtown Kelowna is looking for a Controller to lead the accounting team of three staff. Reporting to the CFO of the parent company and work closely with the local leadership team. This is a 100% in-office role and includes free parking.

Responsibilities:

This Position is responsible for the division's full-cycle accounting, analytics, and reporting. Responsibilities include account reconciliations, supervision of the divisional administration staff, and management of all aspects of the accounting department, which includes A/R, A/P, payroll, banking, insurance, fixed assets, audits, and taxes. This role will produce Financial Statements Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly, with Cash forecasts, and yearly Budgets. Financial analysis will be required as directed by your VP or General manager.

- Financial statements and month-end procedures

- Insurance

- Internal and external Audit

- Income and excise tax

- Oversight of accounting team – Payroll, AP, AR

- Job Costing

- Banking

- Fixed Assets

- Budgeting

Qualifications:

• Excellent working Knowledge of Microsoft Office program suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
• Experienced in managing, coaching, and developing staff
• Familiar with ERP use; Vista ERP knowledge is considered an asset
• University degree or diploma in Accounting/Business or Finance related
• Some experience in transactional accounting i.e., Accounts receivables/ Payables, Banking
• Designated CPA 5+ years’ progressive experience as a full cycle accountant or public firm experience
• Experience with job costing or project accounting
• Experience with audit and internal controls and building business processes is required
• Experience in civil construction is considered an asset
