Community Relations & Marketing Coordinator

Things you’ll do:

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Community Relations and Marketing Coordinator will support the development and implementation of successful community relations and marketing initiatives to strengthen the Mid Island Co-op brands across the Co-op’s trading area.

• Oversee the implementation of donations, sponsorships and key community partnerships as part the Co-op community engagement strategies;
• Conduct market research and monitors competitor activity directly impacting the Co-op to identify opportunities and trends within existing and new market segments;
• Develop and foster strong working relationships with others across multiple departments to exchange/report/present information, advise and collaborate on issues/solutions.
• Be the Co-op’s key liaison and public relations representative within the Co-op’s trading area and assist in coordinating local team member involvement;
• Participate in the modification and implementation of brand plans, marketing/sales campaigns, promotions and advertising;
• Provide recommendations on innovative ideas for articles, press releases, and events;
• Represent Mid Island Co-op by being an ambassador and demonstrating our values of Community, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork.
• Oversee and monitor Mid Island Co-op’s digital media and online presence; conducts communication through social media networks and tools and may respond to external customer inquiries, complaints and comments;
• Work with media, event organizers, to ensure project goals, timelines and budget are maximized;
• Support the development and execution of community relation strategies and activities including events;

Apply to become our Community Relations & Marketing Coordinator today if you have a post-secondary education in Business with 2 or more years’ experience in Community Relations and/or Marketing (a combination of education, training and experience will be considered).You have strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, advanced proficiency in Office 365, and knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content and social media marketing. Event planning experience would be an asset. A Class 5 Drivers License and Driver’s Abstract is required.
