Program Overview – Communications, Central Services
The Marketing & Communications team supports WoodGreen’s engagement with the public, through social media and online channels, engaging with media, and profiling stories of impact, and demonstrating thought leadership within the sector. The student worker will assist in the implementation of and provide support to special projects designed to produce better outcomes for clients and communities by furthering the innovation practice of the organization.
What You Will Do

• Support in gathering content for WoodGreen’s annual impact report, including images, content, etc.
• Monitor and stay up to date on news and research related to WoodGreen strategic priorities including housing, future of work, youth engagement, community health, and more.
• Assist in developing and maintaining brand and communications materials and standards across the organization.
• Support communications initiatives through drafting and contributing to key message documents, communications plans, internal communications, and digital communications as needed.
• Track and report on communications objectives and key performance indicators across platforms.
• Draft and copyedit thought leadership content including, but not limited to blogs, social media posts, press releases, media pitches, reports.

What You Bring to the Team

• Post-secondary degree in a related field of study in progress or completed.

Must meet the participant requirements under the Canada Summer Jobs Agreement with Employment and Social Development Canada as outlined:

• International students are not eligible participants. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible. As the objective of the CSJ program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student’s time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market.
• The youth must be 15 years of age at the beginning of the employment period. The youth may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as the youth was 30 at the beginning of the employment period.
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and,
• Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
• Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period*;

• Ability to provide strong communication; both verbal and written.
• Strong Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Teams) and Outlook skillset.
• Ability to manage time and multiple priorities effectively.
