Are you a skilled communications professional looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference? Our Corporate Communications department is growing, and we are looking for Communications Advisors to join our dynamic, dedicated team.

You will identify and support communications objectives for internal and external audiences. You will perform stakeholder analyses and develop strategies to increase awareness of WorkSafeBC's services, goals, and initiatives. You'll write communication plans and develop supporting materials for print and online channels, ensuring consistency of style and accuracy of content while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

How you'll make a difference: You'll build the understanding and trust that helps WorkSafeBC serve people across B.C. Where you'll work

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

We currently have vacancies in our Victoria and Richmond office. In this role, you'll work primarily from your B.C. home and occasionally in office.

We'll be reviewing applications on a weekly basis, so ensure to apply today!

  • Provide functional guidance to editors, web publishers, designers, and photo/video editors when developing and implementing communication initiatives
  • Conceive and implement communication strategies to foster a greater understanding of WorkSafeBC's services, business objectives, and initiatives
  • Provide recommendations on content, key messages, style, and format of communications to the department and to clients
  • Apply plain-language best practices to all communications and recommend new ways of interpreting complex information for a broad range of audiences
  • Consult with internal clients to develop and execute complex communication plans that address organizational issues, mitigate potential risks and challenges, and provide clear, consistent, timely, and useful information to WorkSafeBC's stakeholders

We're Looking For People Who Can

  • Coach and influence others in developing effective communication skills
  • Build strong relationships with people across and outside the organization
  • Use the principles and best practices of business communications, including developing and implementing communication plans and strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on complex and challenging projects, while adapting quickly to emerging circumstances or needs and be flexible in the face of change
  • Communicate effectively with a broad range of audiences both online and in person.

We'll consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.
