The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a Cloud Solutions Engineer to join our Information Technology team.

This can be a remote role, however for those who would like to come into the office we are at 1111 West Georgia St, Vancouver, BC.

Reporting to the Software Engineer Lead, the Cloud Solutions Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and working with Development, Security, and IT Ops teams to deploy software products running on the Azure Cloud platform. This role will provide technical expertise to the Engineering teams for transforming existing solutions to enable cloud readiness.

What your day looks like:

• Design and build enterprise software solutions based on a Microservices architecture on the Azure Cloud Platform
• Design and implement security standards and configurations for ITSec/compliance, including cluster policies, Key Vault, and audit logging
• Contribute to cloud viability analysis, detailed work planning and estimation for major projects and complex assignments with broad scope and long-term technology and business implications
• Provides technical leadership, technology guidance and mentors others on solution design/implementation best practices
• Create and maintain solution design documents, diagrams, and other materials related to the solutions deployed to the Cloud
• Promotes best practice and contribute to the continuous improvement

Requirements

Your experience and skills:

• Strong problem-solving, decision making, and conflict-resolution abilities
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, technical diploma, or other applicable software development work experience
• Experience with designing and implementing highly available, scalable, and resilient solutions for cloud-native and non-cloud environments that meet Enterprise service level, security, and business continuity requirements
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various levels of management, staff, and external clients
• Experience in supporting wealth management and/or credit unions business would be an asset
• Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset
• 7+ years of experience within a programming and application system environment (including RESTful APIs and cloud-based platforms) in a complex and security-focused environment including in the capacity of technical leadership
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies is required
• Understanding of Azure IaaS, PaaS and Container based deployment models, configuration, and migration experience (including Azure Container instances and Kubernetes)
• Hands-on experience with various Azure Platform services including Azure Integration Services (Logic Apps, API Management, Service Bus & Event Grid), Application/Data Services (Service Fabric, Azure Functions, Azure SQL), Azure Active Directory and Azure Monitor / Application Insights
• Understanding of DevSecOps practices and tools, including Azure DevOps, Docker CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code models
