Sixone is developing technologies to enable advanced recycling of blended plastics and plastic-based products. The company’s technology applies process digitalization and advanced analytics to build a depolymerization reactor tailored to enable efficient plastics recycling. The company aims to fundamentally change the economics behind current recycled materials through advanced processing and materials technologies.
Job Overview
As the Chemical Production Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in scaling up and optimizing our chemical production operations. You will lead and mentor a team of operators, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient production, quality control, and continuous improvement. This position requires a proactive and hands-on approach, a deep understanding of chemical production processes, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving startup culture.
Description of Responsibilities
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and enhanced operational efficiencies
- Cultivate relationships with suppliers, ensuring reliable and cost-effective supply chain management
- Develop and implement robust standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control measures to ensure consistent and high-quality production outputs
- Maintain a strong focus on regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards in all production activities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of chemical production operators, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Continuously analyze production metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying areas for optimization and implementing corrective actions
- Oversee and optimize day-to-day production operations, ensuring efficient resource allocation, scheduling, and production planning
- Collaborate with the research and development team to scale up new products and processes for commercial production, ensuring seamless technology transfer
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in chemical production operations, implementing relevant advancements as appropriate
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in chemical production operations, preferably within a startup or fast-paced environment
- Agility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-changing startup environment
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented culture
- Expertise in chemical production processes, equipment, and quality control measures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across teams and levels of the organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data for decision-making and optimization
- Proven track record of successfully scaling up production operations and implementing process improvements
