We are hiring a Category Assistant to join us as our corporate teams grow & develop! This role is looking to be filled by a proactive self-starter with knowledge and experience in Merchandising Management or Retail!

Category Assistant (SG)

Role Specific Accountabilities

• Conduct and complete product related activities to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards
• Execute on OTB needs to drive excitement between preseason purchases and in season opportunities that will maintain Giant Tigers as the price and fashion leader in the discount market.
• Produce and complete sku and assortment related information as per the timelines detailed in the buying calendar to minimize disruptions in the product lifecycle
• Conduct and coordinate all communications with all support teams in regards to product once strategy has been set to support buyer.
• Coordinate the product development & execute product assortment to align with the category strategy.
• Conduct effective communications with stores and provide relevant information needed to assist with purchasing decisions and quantification

Requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• University or College degree in Merchandising Management or Fashion Marketing;
• Strong communication skills.
• Minimum 1-2 years experience in a retail buying office.
• Excellent sense of style and knowledge of fashion trends
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word and an ability to learn new applications quickly.
