The Crump Group Inc. is a family-owned and operated premium pet treat manufacturer. Started in 2006, we have successfully established 3 market leading brands (Caledon Farms, Crumps Naturals AND Dog Delights) distributed throughout Canada and the United States.The Crump Group Inc., a large & rapidly growing pet food manufacturer based in Mississauga Ontario and Nashville North Carolina is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Category Development Manager.

Role scope:

Leverage data and category trends to assess new and existing geographic markets and create actionable insights. Use informed data to develop where to play/how to win playbooks that will be foundational to our long-term growth plans. Support sales meetings including new business intros and JBP’s. Push beyond the local Canadian market to influence international market entry and leading-edge innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with sales on annual planning and customer presentations including category-based selling and planogram recommendations
• Evolve the shelf strategy for the pet treats category
• Be the expert on our competitive set and current and future category drivers
• Develop a category management strategy and related go-to-market activities
• Scope new international markets including research on competitors, pricing, and go to market execution
• Partner with marketing to develop go-to-market strategy and portfolio differentiation for the U.S. market

Required Experience:

• Sales and shelving fundamentals (AMPS/DPSM)
• Customer experience or account management
• Strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships and rapport
• Category management
• Experience in fast moving consumer goods an asset
• Strong analytical experience converting data insights into action
• Experience with market research / market assessment an asset
• Leadership in cross-functional teams an asset

You have…

• Experience building and presenting customer presentations
• Hardworking
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• 3-5 years’ relevant experience within the CPG is beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent work experience
• Proficient in Microsoft office, especially PowerPoint
• Willing to learn and move up through the company
