Our government client is seeking a Cloud Managed Desktop engineer to research, maintain, evolve, improve, and test technology and its components required to provide new and innovative solutions and services in the desktop engineering space.
Mandatory Requirements For The Position Include

• 3 years of experience in Windows 10/11, MacOS, iOS/iPadOS, Android, Microsoft Intune/Microsoft Endpoint Manager, AAD/Hybrid Azure AD Join, Windows Autopilot, Windows Update for Business (WUfB), Windows Hello for Business (WHfB), Windows Feature Update, M365 apps for Enterprise, Endpoint Analytics, Group Policy Analytics, Proactive Remediation, Delivery Optimization, Microsoft Graph API, and Apple Business Manager
• 3 references
• Valid Secret security clearance
• Worked on 3 Canadian Federal Government projects, including image preparation using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, application installation, packaging/distribution and scripting using Microsoft SCCM, application deployment using technologies such as Microsoft SCCM, providing technical architecture advice in the design and deployment of desktop imaging and management infrastructures, and providing technical architectures and guidance for desktop transformation initiatives
• 2 years of experience in Azure Virtual Desktop
• 5 years of experience in Desktop engineering solutions, including desktop image preparation, management of desktop configuration software packaging and deployment methods and tools
• 10 years of experience in Desktop Computing environment building applications and desktop images

Responsibilities

• Review technical architecture requirements and business requirements as they relate to the cloud managed desktop components
• Prepare draft technical documentation and/or reports in English, potentially with multiple drafts for each document/report
• Develop technical architectures, frameworks, and strategies to meet business and application requirements
• Provide technical assistance in building and testing different components that help evolve the cloud managed desktop solution, including MS Intune/MS Endpoint manager, application packages (physical and virtual), Windows Autopilot, Windows update for business (WUfB), Windows features Updates, Endpoint Analytics, Windows 10/11/Mac OS, Azure Active Directory/Hybrid Azure AD join, Intune Policies and policy management, Proactive Monitoring/Remediation, M365 Apps for Enterprise, Delivery Optimization, MS Graph API, PowerShell Scripting, Windows Hello for Business (WHfB), Apple Business Manager, Directory services components, virtual application delivery components, virtual desktop delivery components, level 1 and/or level 2 workstation hypervisors, and Firewall/VPN rules (ports and protocols)
• Analyze and evaluate alternative technology solutions to meet business problems
• Provide verbal debriefing, formal, and ad hoc documentation
• Perform impact analysis of technology changes
• Provide technical advice, recommendations, and support input as part of the cloud managed desktop team
• Ensure all deliverables, reports, and documentation consider best practices and industry standards
• Ensure integration of all aspects of desktop technology solutions
• Prepare build and transition documents for transitioning to the build and operate team
• Identify policies and requirements for a particular desktop solution
• Identify gaps with target technical requirements and develop recommendations
• Attend internal meetings and work in partnership with all stakeholders to identify technical challenges, risks, and issues and propose appropriate recommendations
• Provide information, direction, and support for emerging desktop technologies
• Monitor industry trends to ensure that desktop solutions align with government and industry directions for technology

• Provide guidance on technical issues related to technical solutions to project stakeholders
• Identify technical improvement opportunities
• Build technical and test components in the lab related to MS Azure/Intune technology solutions and potential offerings, research and troubleshoot technical components, and script and package components
