If so, apply below and join Peel Regional Police – one of Canada’s most progressive police services!As a Architect - Network Infrastructure within our ITS Infra and Data Centre Ops Department, you will be responsible for designing right network for the organization based on their needs and solution requirements, as well as designing, deploying and maintaining secure and highly available SDN in Data Centers and secure and highly available LAN, WAN, WLAN and SD-WAN, providing guidance and oversight to senior, intermediate and junior staff for deploying and maintaining LAN, WAN, WLAN, SDN and SD-WAN and participating in technology forecasting.ResponsibilitiesWhat will your typical day look like? Architects, implements and maintains secure and highly available LAN, WAN, WLAN, SDN and SD-WAN and the automatic failover configuration for disaster recovery scenarios for the Data Center and remote sites. Provides Level 3 technical support for network infrastructure in the Cloud, on-premise Data Centers and remote sites. Ensures the availability and security of LAN, WAN, WLAN, SDN and SD-WAN. Conducts technical research and development to enable continued innovation and increased value to front line officers. Performs technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within LAN, WAN, WLAN, SDN and SD-WAN solutions, providing increasing value to our frontline officers. Innovates solutions and tools that meet project needs while managing feasibility and associated risks. Proposes coherent and efficient solutions, ensuring their scalability, security, modularity and integration. Defines the measures and tools necessary for technical solutions to deliver quality service reliability, stability and performance. Maintains architectural documentation on the technical solutions and the ecosystem for future reference and consultation. Provides expertise to analyze and help to resolve problems and ecosystem issues related to LAN, WAN, WLAN, SDN and SD-WAN. Collaborates with subject matter experts from various IT disciplines to form comprehensive solutions to design criteria specified by diverse business units. Defines the technological vision (e.g., roadmap) and guide the design of new solutions or the evolution of existing technical solutions. Develops procedures and provides input to standards relating to technical aspects of network infrastructure hardware and software. Creates, maintains, and validates appropriate disaster avoidance and recovery plans, in conjunction with other IT teams. Creates and reconciles procurement documents for goods/services in support of the network infrastructure including budgeting/forecasting analysis. Maintains a high level of technical knowledge of industry trends and products. Mentors senior, intermediate and junior staff. Performs additional duties as assigned.QualificationsEnough about us, lets talk about youYou are someone with: A University Degree/College Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. One or more certification(s) in the following, required:CCIE Data CenterCCIE Enterprise InfrastructureCCDEAzure Solutions Architect ExpertAWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional Plus one or more certification(s) in the following, required:The Open Group TOGAFCCDEAzure Solutions Architect ExpertAWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional A minimum of five years experience in the architecture and design of complex enterprise networks, including high availability, disaster recovery, security and automatic failover configurations; with 5 years experience in QoS, network and application performance tools and Network Access Control. Demonstrated knowledge in implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting Data Center Networks/LAN/WAN/WLAN for enterprise businesses. Demonstrated knowledge in Cisco ASR/ISR routers and Catalyst/Nexus switches. Demonstrated knowledge in OSPF and BGP routing protocols and IPSec VPN. Demonstrated knowledge in designing, implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting QoS, network and application performance tools (e.g., Wireshark, Fluke, NetAlly, Netscout, Solarwinds, Viavi, etc.). Demonstrated knowledge in designing, implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting DHCP, RADIUS and TACACS, Linux and/or Windows operating systems and databases such as MSSQL. Working knowledge in designing, testing and troubleshooting outside plant single mode fibre optic networks preferred. Working knowledge in building, implementing and supporting SDWAN solution based Cisco or VMware/Fortinet/Palo Alto preferred. Working knowledge in configuring, managing and supporting network and security configurations for AWS, Google and/or cloud environments preferred. Working knowledge in configuring firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, etc.) preferred. Working knowledge in electrical power distribution for data centers and computer network systems preferred. Working knowledge in DevOps concepts, automation and Infrastructure-as-Code technologies (e.g., CI/CD tools such as Ansible, Gitlab, Docker, Jenkins, Python, etc.) preferred.
