Job Description

As a Financial Services Associate, you will be responsible for the processing and reconciliation of the Family Managed Home Care Program (FMHC). Responsibilites include purchasing services, billing files and eligiblity expense reimbursements to ensure that payments to all substitute decision makers/patients are processed on a timely and accurate basis. You will also maintain confidentiality in accordance with privacy legislation and organizational policies and procedures. You will provide support for the assigned team in their daily activities to ensure that patients receive prompt, effective customer service.

What will you do?


  • Train substitute decision makers/patients on HPG and other service providers as required
  • Updates FMHC billing files as required in accordance to MIS rules where needed
  • Prepare/updates monthly financial reports and analysis as required
  • Backup to the FSA-contract reconciliation team as required for non FMHC billing files
  • Develop and maintains relevant procedures manuals
  • Ensure and monitor that all substitute decision makers/patients have submitted billing files according to the bi-monthly submission policy is enforced. Contacts substitute makers/patients regarding late submissions
  • Manage eligible expense payments, creating import files
  • Prepare audit reports as required
  • Process and reconcile electronic billing files (Health Partner Gateway- (HPG)) and manual billing files for FMHC services
  • Reviews and resolves suspensions with patient care, family managed home care analyst and substitute decision maker/patient as required


Patient Safety


  • Adheres to HNHB HCCSS' patient safety policies and procedures
  • Work within the basic principles of patient safety by doing the right thing for the right patient, using the right method at the right time
  • Promotes patient safety in alignment with the vision, mission, values and strategic directions of the HNHB HCCSS


What must you have?


Educational Qualifications


  • Minimum two-year community college diploma in accounting or business


Experience


  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Minimum 2 years’ recent experience in an accounting environment.
  • Experience with an online invoice processing system is an asset
