About The Opportunity


Venor is proud to partner with WCB on their search for five (5) Business Analysts to join their growing team. Reporting to the Manager, Projects and Change Management, the Business Analyst provides critical analytical support to various projects and change initiatives at the Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) through data analysis, business process development and review, as well as research. The successful candidate(s) would often participate as a project team member in various roles, from identifying and scoping improvement opportunities, to options and impact analysis, to developing recommendations for change, and implementing solutions for various subject matters. In addition, this position provides on-going operational support, provision of an interface and a liaison role by participating in the development, implementation and acceptance testing of activities between operational staff and Information Technology Services. The position requires an ability to be able to translate the business needs into IT requirements and IT changes into business language as well as support the development and delivery of associated training materials.


General accountabilities include operational leadership, business processes, data analysis and project initiatives. The Business Analyst is accountable for identifying and scoping improvement opportunities, developing recommendations for change, and implementing solutions. They will be required to act as prime/lead for initiatives, in addition to functioning as a team member. As a formal leader, s/he will be required to facilitate, guide and build relationships with both operational and corporate departments to ensure the projects and initiatives are well executed in a timely, comprehensive and customer focus manner. Other regular responsibilities include:


  • Liaise with departments and IT staff to coordinate and identify priorities, develop appropriate service level agreements, and ensure proper consideration of resource requirements for initiatives
  • Ensure that testing is completed as per plans and schedules
  • Support operational departments and the HR Training Team in providing and coordinating technical training
  • Conduct and report upon business analyses
  • Provide guidance and expertise in Board-wide rollouts of initiatives
  • Meet regularly with both operational departments, management and staff, as required to determine and report on status, progress, etc.


About You


As the ideal candidate, you satisfy the following requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience planning and delivering workshops and/or training programs
  • A University degree, including or augmented by formal training in business, computer sciences or business systems
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • 1+ years of proven experience in business analysis or computer applications training


An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.

WCB offers a competitive compensation package including a salary range of $62,924 - $78,644.
