The Work
The Business Analyst is responsible for supporting the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the Bank’s ServiceNow instance, including the triaging and management of reported system issues, collaboration with the business units and product owner(s) to manage and prioritize backlog items as well as gather and document user stories for system enhancements. The BA will assist in communication between the business and the ServiceNow Centre of Excellence, soliciting input and expertise from business subject matter experts and technology teams.
Reporting to the Manager, ServiceNow Centre of Excellence, the Business Analyst will support the entire software development life cycle as it pertains to ServiceNow, including intake, prioritization, requirements gathering, communications during development, testing, deployment, enhancement, and retirement. The BA will support the Centre of Excellence in working with all current and future stakeholder groups as well as implementation partners for ServiceNow initiatives. EQB is using the latest suite of Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, and add-ons) for capturing epics, user stories, flows, technical design documents, testing, and sprint-based execution.
The Core Parts Of Your Role Would Be To
  • Support facilitation of workshops to document customer / user needs, process / system flows, and end to end requirements as detailed user stories
  • Work with our internal partners as well as 3rd party vendors to bring all enhancements and issues to resolution which may include review sessions, co-ordinating the deployments to various environments, business user testing support and act as the business liaison for the vendor
  • Work with ServiceNow developers and administrators by providing input into the test strategy, test scenarios, test data requirements and supporting user validation
  • Communicate changes to the requirements effectively and on a timely basis to developers, project managers and other necessary stakeholders
  • Follow prescribed change control procedures, making sure all changes are property documented, approved and communicated from initiation to design to testing to implementation
  • Prepare training documentation as well as facilitate training sessions to business users
  • Prepare requirements documentation which could include story maps, user stories and/or use cases, data mapping matrix and process flows
  • Analyze and help prioritize reported issues as well as enhancement requests submitted by the EQB business users.
Let’s Talk About You
  • Post-Secondary education, preferably in the areas of Information Technology or Commerce/Business Administration
  • Proficient user of all MS desktop tools
  • Experience and familiarity with term deposits and lending businesses
  • Good knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle concepts and best practices for the waterfall and agile methodologies
  • 1 or more years of experience in the field of Information Technology
  • Experience preparing story maps and user stories and preparing data mapping documentation
Additional Nice To Have Skills
  • Experience with ServiceNow and its various interfaces, data models, and development methodologies
  • Knowledge of JIRA + Confluence + Zephyr

The incumbent will be working hybrid and in office time will be spent working from Equitable Bank’s additional office space located at 351 King Street East, Toronto, ON.
