Responsible for managing the selected product categories within Meat business unit. Product range is flexible packaging, sold to brand owners, and private label manufacturers big and small across Europe. Develop where to play and how to win marketing plans & value propositions grounded on sharp identification of customer needs and market trends. Draft and execute go-to-market strategies in close collaboration with customers; manage product portfolio, product life cycle and innovation funnel; lead new product development and launches, conduct market and competitive intelligence research leading to leads identification and qualification.

Principal Accountabilities
Planning and implementation
  • Prioritize initiatives to meet financial and strategic marketing objectives for selected categories
  • Participating in delivery of strategic marketing plans that cover 5 years
  • Play active role in the internal alignment and implementation of those plans in market
Cross functional leadership in managing vertical profitability
  • Work with all stakeholders across Europe to support vertical marketing plans. Collaborate with North Americas’ product and marcom teams.
  • Become specialist of the Meat, Poultry, Fish & Seafood flexible packaging product categories – help setting and executing vertical direction and goals, participating in management of the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities, engaging all relevant stakeholders
  • Supporting Sales team with customer presentations and negotiation processes
  • Manage the products and the product concepts in the Meat, Poultry, Fish & seafood vertical, ensuring the best product mix to maximize financial performance (profitability and growth), balancing regional and site perspectives
Innovation and Value Proposition
  • Proactively take part in the design platform innovation in a way that supports profitability and growth across the product lifecycle
  • Participate in product development vertical teams (R&D) to design and validate innovation concepts that address customer and consumer needs
  • Build unique selling propositions that support innovation concepts showing consumer benefits and advantages vs. competition
Market Research / Business Intelligence
  • Recommend appropriate action course for selected products, align the team and translate decisions into actionable marketing plans
  • Manage Amcor product life cycle
  • Share market analysis with relevant stakeholders on an ongoing basis (e.g. market size, growth/decline, competitor shares, competitor analysis, customer insight summaries)
  • Acquire solid understanding of customers’ and consumers’ current and future needs in the Meat, Poultry, Fish & seafood industry
  • Work alongside sales and technical community to monitor latest industry and competitive products
  • Pro-actively evaluate product portfolio needs
Lead generation mapping
  • Map and prioritize growth opportunities, both at existing and new customers, for the Sales and Business Development team to act upon
  • Participate to lead generation through content creation, such as external webinars or conferences
Development of powerful external communication plan
  • Act as a brand ambassador
  • Contribute to the creation of content pipelines for Meat, Poultry, Fish & Seafood segments, supported by Marketing Communications
  • Provide clear inputs to Marketing Communications to support the development of content pipelines, such as vertical trends, marketing strategy, target audience, key buying factors and, focus products and services
Qualifications/Requirements
Formal Qualifications and Experience
  • University Degree in a business-related field or MBA, specialisation in Marketing and/or Product Management preferred
  • Fluent in English, another European language as an advantage
  • Demonstrated success with key marketing processes (e.g. strategic planning, competitive analysis, market research, new product development and launch, pricing strategies etc.)
  • Product knowledge and previous experience of the food packaging industry is a clear plus
  • Proven track record in aligning and maintaining organizational focus on Customer, new product introductions and product portfolio management
  • Marketing and product management experience in an international FMCG, durables, B2B2C matrix environment
