Bi Data Analyst/Requirements Analyst (4028)

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company with offices in Vancouver, Toronto, Seattle and Cagliari (Italy) is looking for an experienced BI Data Analyst/Requirements Analyst. This role initially will be primarily BI Data and Business Analysis. The role will evolve to include Power BI Development. The degree of report development work dependents on the capacity of our existing developers to meet our timeline. This is a part-time position.

Overall, this position focuses on creating visualization, reporting and analytics solutions to meet the needs of the organization. The initial focus, will be on gathering requirements, producing and automating the delivery of key strategic metrics and KPIs for business.

Responsibilities:

• Creates data mapping for transformation of data from source to target DB’s.
• Translates requirements into user stories.
• Captures and documents business requirements specifications for reporting and information requests.
• Scrum Master for BI Team.
• Interacts with business stakeholders to gather business requirements and create user stories.
• Acquires knowledge of all main data sources for the data used within the business organization and ability to effectively utilize these data sources for reporting purposes.
• Develops and executes database queries and conducts analysis.
• Creates visualizations and reports as requested by the client.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience developing complex SQL queries.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and organizational skills specifically including the ability to present solution options.
• 5+ years of experience creating data models using PowerBI.
• 5+ years of experience in information technology and/or systems development.
• Familiarity with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence concepts.
• Experience with Data Modeling / Database Administration
• Excellent client focused consulting skills
• 3+ years of experience implementing PowerBI, SSRS based reporting or use of similar technologies.
• 5+ years of experience working with relational and dimensional database schemas.
• 3+ years of experience implementing ETL/ETL processes, including platforms such as SQL, SSIS, SSAS, Azure Data Factory or similar.
• Sisense experience.
• Comfortable working independently in a fast paced environment.
• Nice to have:
• 3+ years of experience implementing visualizations for a wide variety of business audiences-executives, operational managers and customer facing teams.
• Experience with data virtualization, data automation, data architecture.
