Role: Senior Business Intelligence Developer / Power BI Developer

Location: Remote (Canada)

Duration: 18 Months

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement comprehensive Power BI solutions using Power Apps, Azure Data Lakehouse, Azure Synapse, and M.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into effective data visualizations and user-friendly applications.

• Create visually appealing and interactive dashboards in Power BI that present complex data in a clear and concise manner.

• Build custom applications using Power Apps, leveraging its low-code development capabilities, to automate business processes and enhance user productivity.

• Integrate Power BI and Power Apps with Azure Data Lakehouse and Azure Synapse to enable scalable and efficient data processing, analysis, and storage.

• Perform data analysis, modeling, and profiling to identify data quality issues, anomalies, and trends.

• Utilize M development language to transform and shape data within Power BI and Azure Data Lakehouse.

• Optimize Power BI reports, dashboards, and Power Apps applications for performance, scalability, and user experience in an Azure environment.

• Develop and maintain data pipelines, leveraging Azure Data Factory or similar technologies, to ensure timely and accurate data ingestion into Azure Data Lakehouse.

• Utilize Azure Synapse to build scalable and performant data warehousing and analytics solutions.

• Stay updated with the latest Power BI, Power Apps, Azure Data Lakehouse, Azure Synapse, and M development features, best practices, and industry trends, and share knowledge with the team.

• Collaborate with database administrators, data engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across solutions.

The Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.

• Proven experience as a Power BI Development Engineer or similar role, with a minimum of 6 years of experience.

• Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power Query, DAX, Power BI Service, Power Apps, Azure Data Lakehouse, Azure Synapse, and M development.

• Significant experience in data modeling, designing efficient and scalable data models for Power BI, Azure Data Lakehouse, and Azure Synapse.

• Proficient in SQL and experience working with databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL.

• Solid understanding of low-code development principles and experience building custom applications with Power Apps.

• Experience with Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure Analysis Services, and Azure Synapse Analytics.

• Familiarity with Azure Data Lakehouse architecture and best practices for organizing, managing, and analyzing data.

• Strong expertise in DAX and M development language for data transformation and shaping within Power BI and Azure Data Lakehouse.

• Proven track record working with a development team to deliver solutions within the defined project SDLC.
