Bi Qa Analyst (4029) Jobs

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company with offices in Vancouver, Toronto, Seattle and Cagliari (Italy) is looking for a Business Intelligence QA Analyst. This position is responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of data within a business intelligence or data analytics environment. The QA Analyst will work closely with stakeholders, data engineers, and data analysts to develop and execute test plans, test cases, and data validation processes. The QA Analyst will utilize their strong understanding of data quality concepts, data profiling techniques, and data governance principles to identify and resolve data quality issues.

Responsibilities:

• Documentation: Create and maintain documentation of data quality rules, data dictionaries, and data lineage to support data governance and compliance requirements.
• Data Cleansing and Transformation: Collaborate with data engineers and data analysts to develop and implement data cleansing and transformation processes to improve data quality and usability.
• Training and Support: Provide training and support to business users and stakeholders.
• Fact and Dimension Schemas: Test and validate fact and dimension schemas to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data models and data structures.
• Data Quality Assurance: Develop and implement data quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data used in business intelligence and reporting.
• Power BI Reports and Visualizations: Test and validate Power BI reports and visualizations to ensure the accuracy and usability of data insights and analytics.
• Azure Data Factory Pipelines: Test and validate Azure Data Factory pipelines to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data pipelines and data integration processes.
• Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and analyze data quality issues, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Data Validation and Testing: Develop test plans and test cases to validate data transformations, calculations, and aggregations in business intelligence solutions.

Requirements:

• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of data quality concepts, data profiling techniques, and data governance principles.
• 5+ years of experience in data quality assurance, data validation, and testing in a business intelligence or data analytics environment.
• Familiarity with data quality tools and frameworks.
• 5+ years of experience with data visualization tools using Power BI.
• 6+ years of experience in developing test plans and test cases.
• Experience with complex queries.
• Strong SQL and data manipulation language skills.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory pipelines for data integration and orchestration.
• 6+ years of experience as a Quality Analyst.
• 6+ years of experience creating Test Plans and Test Cases using Azure DevOps or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
