We are seeking a full time Director of Claims for our Atlantic Region. The successful candidate will be part of the Atlantic Region Claims Team, reporting to VP National Claims, leading the Claims Team to provide Gallagher clients with exemplary claims service and advocacy, maintaining and exceeding the service standards of the Gallagher Claims Department. Your positive outlook and professionalism are prerequisites to work with our dynamic team. Previous experience in claims is necessary.
- Key Account Client meetings in tandem with Broker team
- Leadership and Mentorship of Atlantic Claims Advocates and Associates
- Support to Claims Team in review of policy coverages, wordings and advocacy
- Advocacy on claims, as necessary, on client’s behalf with insurers
- Liaise between insured and insurance carrier during settlement negotiations when required
- Maintain, organize and update client files
- Discussion and review of Commercial and Personal Insurance client’s new claims with analysis of policy wordings
- Provide Claims counselling as required to the insureds in a professional and compassionate manner
- Development of relationships with Gallagher main insurers Claims Management Teams, Large Loss Adjusters and Independent Adjusters
- Communicate with adjusters and insureds with respect to open claims
- Development of relationships with Key Providers including Restoration Companies, Auto body Shops, Accounting Firms and Law Firms
- Attend company sponsored seminars and educational activities needed to maintain product knowledge and expertise, and participate in projects at management’s request
- Completion of post-secondary education an asset
- CAIB, CIP, CRM and/or Broker License designations an asset or courses completed towards designations
- Ability to multi-task between a variety of tasks, projects, and deadlines
- Bi-lingual English/French an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Excellent time management and organization skills
- Experience with EPIC and/or DMS an asset
- Comprehensive and effective verbal/written communication skills
- Team Management and or Leadership Experience an asset
- Client service and/or advocacy experience an asset
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Claims Adjusting Experience or Commercial Broker including Claims Advocacy Experience an asset
