Role Purpose

We are currently looking for an Associate Market Data Analyst to sit within the Global Market Data team in Toronto focused on the data operations within Canada. This is a perfect junior opportunity for someone with a strong interest in financial markets to kick start or develop their career further within Data Analytics.

As an Associate Market Data Analyst you will provide and utilise your strong technical and business analysis skills, in addition to developing your financial markets knowledge. The primary role is to maintain and support Iress’ market data to ensure the highest data and service quality. The role entails supporting our Tier 1 Support Desk through investigation and communication of data issues, verifying data quality, contacting data vendors and providing data reports both internally and externally.

Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on…

• Recognise and meet competing priorities and deadlines
• Ensuring highest data quality through manual and automated data checks
• Contacting Data Vendors to resolve data quality issues
• Assess and define solutions based on risk, impact and feasibility
• Work with data acquisition, development, testing and marketing teams to on board new, or enhance data content
• Supporting Tier 1 Support Desk by analysing and resolving their queries

To be successful in this role…

Ideally, you will have completed a degree or qualification focused on Statistics, Business, Economics or IT with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. A strong knowledge and interest in financial markets is advantageous with proven experience liaising and maintaining relationships with stakeholders effectively. You will be comfortable working with various software development methodologies, have a key interest in tech and perhaps have had exposure to SQL databases and Excel. You will be collaborative, personable and have the ability to use your initiative proactively.
