Assistant Underwriter Jobs

Responsibilities

• Manage relationships with retail insurance brokers and follow up on any outstanding information needed to complete the underwriting file
• Process new insurance submissions from clients
• Order and follow up on inspections and handle endorsement requests and referrals for the underwriter
• You’re organized and a master multi-tasker. You pay attention to details and can effectively manage your time and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• You’re professional and customer service focused. You put the needs of your internal and external clients first and take pride in your work and reputation.
• You’re a team-player. Our organization collaborative atmosphere where supporting each other is critical for success.
• You take initiative. You don’t wait until you are told what to do. You anticipate project needs and can roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
• Log applications, prepare binders, and process policies and endorsements
• Bind risk, post the invoice and process technical data
• Service a book of business under the direct supervision of an underwriter

Qualifications

• Insurance administration experience in underwriting and/or brokerage support with commercial lines experience preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency in customer service
• Proven organization skills and ability with a strong attention to detail
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Interest in continued education and professional development to obtain full underwriting authority
