Are you an experienced finance professional looking to take your career to the next level? Harris is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Controller to become a vital part of our Corporate Team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Corporate Controller and Director of Finance, engaging in a wide spectrum of finance and accounting responsibilities that touch on both our daily operations and our continuous acquisition endeavors.

Responsibilities:

Your key responsibilities will include:

Complex Revenue Recognition: Reviewing intricate revenue recognition for software contracts, particularly those accounted for under IFRS 15. This will involve regular scrutiny of Work in Progress (WIP) schedules.

Accounting Expertise: Assessing and recommending appropriate accounting treatments for complex issues that arise.

Integration Support: Assisting in the smooth integration of new acquisitions into our finance group.

Accounting Standards: Contributing to the implementation of new accounting standards and resolving accounting matters through independent research, discussion, and collaboration. This includes areas like revenue recognition and acquisition accounting.

Variance Analysis: Reviewing variance analysis for all business units across Harris, comparing actuals to forecasts and prior periods.

Training: Providing ongoing training to the Finance team on financial reporting topics.

Account Reconciliation: Reviewing Corporate account reconciliations.

Audit Coordination: Coordinating interim and year-end external audits.

What We're Looking For:

To excel in this role, you should have:

Education: An undergraduate degree in business, finance, or accounting.

Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in an accounting or finance environment.

CPA: Either completed or working towards a CPA designation.

Expertise: Experience with complex revenue recognition and familiarity with the IFRS reporting framework.

Experience with project accounting (% complete) and software revenue recognition.

CPA designation.
