Application Engineer – (Permanent Position)
Our client, one of the leaders in the Automotive Industry is looking to grow their team and is hiring for a Application Engineer.
Shift: Monday-Friday, 9:00AM-5:00PM
Location: Oakville, ON
The Application Engineer will be part of the VAVE Engineering group for the Power Technologies and is responsible for managing VAVE activities, leading all the brain storming activities & workshops with application engineers, R&D Engineers, customers, sales, purchasing & suppliers, and active involvement in successful launch of VAVE ideas in his/her region.
Responsibilities:
• Leading all the brain storming activities & workshops with application engineers, R&D Engineers, customers, sales, purchasing & suppliers.
• Perform project portfolio management, analysis, and executive reporting.
• Provide the key link for his/her region to the PTG VAVE Manager to assure deployment and uniformity of the PTG VAVE process and best practices.
• Engaging directly with OEM engineers to get the necessary VAVE project approvals.
• Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities such as design validation & feasibility.
• Active involvement in breaking bottlenecks and problem resolution to facilitate the successful launch of VAVE projects in his/her region.
• Leading competitive benchmarking analysis.
• Facilitate assembly line trials & activities with plant VAVE Champion/program managers to achieve VAVE engineering and corporate goals.
• Assure the completion of PTG VAVE metrices/deliverables such as PTG VAVE Tracker, Supplier and Project Risk Assessments, DVP&R, DFMEA, Customer Approvals, Launch Status Reports, and Financial Analysis.
• Leading, motivating, developing, and coaching the application/manufacturing/R&D engineering, purchasing, sales and operation teams.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical/Materials/Applications)
• Minimum 5- 8 years' experience performing Application/Manufacturing Engineering/program management within the automotive industry.
• Varied multi-disciplined experience.
• PMP Certification is an asset
• Experience as a customer contact.
