We are hiring for an Entry Level Application & Design Specialist/ Mechanical Engineer with experience in the HVAC Industry. You must have current documentation in order to travel occasionally throughout the U.S. and Canada for this position as well as eligibility to work full time for any employer in Canada.
Compensation = Salary base + Bonus + Benefits + RRSP matching program. This full time, permanent, hybrid position is a mix of remote and onsite work at our Head Office/Facility in Mississauga, Ontario.
The successful candidate will have HVAC Industry Technical expertise in a similar role and be very detail oriented with a customer centric approach. Having strong verbal and written communication skills along with an enthusiastic and collaborative attitude in order to effectively train and support our Design Consultants and Representative network throughout North America is required. Our next Team member will excel at engaging and supporting our clients and customers with technical support and product knowledge. They will also be skilled in fostering excellent ongoing customer relationships. The role will revolve around product support, external training, and preparation/ coordination of quotations and designs. (via AutoCAD LT). An Engineering, Science or Technical/ equivalent degree is required.

Key responsibilities:
- Assist in all related activities in sales & customer technical support and take ownership and responsibility for solving customer issues (with regards to applications).
- Ensure that solutions are captured as a technical artifact and stored on our database.
- Provide expertise in product assistance for sales and customers.
- Provide feedback to other departments as required and lead and/or participate in applicable Project Teams involving strategic initiatives and product development.
- Collaborate with different departments to propose best solution offerings to customers such as consulting engineers and contractors.
- Strive to constantly improve business agility and speed of response.
- Filing and tracking of the issued proposal (documents, price, terms, cost information, and details of RFQ).
- Assist in developing and maintaining departmental policies and procedures.
- Interact with Company marketing operatives to provide feedback on initiatives.
- Able to review detailed building plans and blueprints.
- Generate proposals and submittals for these systems and present findings to sales or to our representative networks.
- Product training for external applied representative network.
- Support special projects as assigned by management.
- Create Heat Loss Calculations for buildings.
- Analyze and report customer feedback for continuous customer serving improvement.
- Maintain good relationships with customers and a representative network.
Qualifications:
- Ability to break down complex problems in a simplified way, conduct root cause analysis and provide clear, well-thought-out recommendations.
- University Degree - Engineering or science related is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of ASHRAE regulations (specific to HVAC), policies and procedures.
- Ideally 2+ years’ experience working with engineering, manufacturing and distribution operations.
- Ability to communicate in an open and authentic manner in all situations.
- Self-directed with ability to work autonomously and collaboratively and a focus on results.
- Strong, team-oriented leadership skills with presence and a bias for action.
- Minimum 1 year specification review and proposal creation experience; HVAC industry experience preferred.
- Experience with projects of significant complexity.
- Knowledge of Salesforce (CRM) and Seradex (ERP) is a bonus!
- Creative problem-solving skills, conflict management within different organizations (centralized and matrix organizational structures)
- Working towards professional P.Eng designation is a definite asset!
- Some travel within Canada and USA - updated travel documents required.
