Job Description

Malone Group is seeking to add a Mechanical Project Engineer to our Richmond Hill, Ontario office. This is an exciting opportunity that has arisen from our continued growth in the region.


The Mechanical Project Engineer will be a key project role within the Company’s operations, working within the Engineering Department. The position requires a broad knowledge of, and experience in the range of technical roles and responsibilities carried out by this department. The individual will be involved in multi-faceted projects involving change management, building compliance, mechanical design, space management and advising on more efficient energy management.


Responsibilities

  • Actively participating or leading client meeting and presentations
  • Building Automation Control system design and commissioning
  • Effectively managing of all financial and commercial aspects of site related contracts, including variation orders and related Customer/Sub-contractor negotiations. Ensuring that all equipment and contracts are correctly specified and ordered for delivery at the required time, negotiating best cost and terms of payment for all purchased goods
  • Designing sustainable solutions incorporating renewable technologies where required
  • Overseeing the installation of projects on Customer sites, to include all elements of Quality, Health and Safety and Technical compliance
  • Designing utility and building services systems, (HVAC, Air, Gas, Steam, Water) including surveys where required, to meet the operational requirements of our customer’s objectives
  • Defining project scope including budgets to ensure projects are fully developed at concept stage
  • Working with commissioning teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of mechanical systems
  • Providing technical support for information requests prior to, and during construction phases


Candidate Profile

  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university
  • Excellent understanding of the Canadian mechanical codes
  • Experience related to Mechanical system, HVAC, controls, and electrical systems design
  • 3-5 years’ of engineering experience
  • P.Eng. status would be advantageous
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, and 3D modelling software MS Office proficiency required with advanced Excel and Word experience preferred.
