Accountant - Entry Level

Description
Jump-start your career on the accounting track as an entry-level Accountant at Robert Half. In this position, your responsibilities will include data entry, financial statement review, and Excel spreadsheet creation and manipulation. You will report to the Accounting Manager, work with a dynamic team, and enjoy the opportunity for career growth. This role could be a great match if you have an aptitude for Excel, you maintain a positive attitude, and you are open to an entry-level accounting position. This short-term contract / temporary entry-level Accountant position is located in Ottawa, Ontario.
Your responsibilities

• Making sure that accounts contained in the general ledger are correct
• Prepare journal entries monthly
• Input data
• Investigating and fixing account discrepancies
• Carrying out alternate duties and taking part in special projects as assigned
• Facilitating audit fieldwork for both operational and financial audits
• Facilitating full cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes

Requirements

• Desire to thrive in scenarios of team-based work or independent tasks, always looking to learn more and take initiative on a number of different projects and tasks
• Foundational knowledge in credit collections
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, vlookups) is preferred
• 1 year of relevant accounting experience necessary
• Experience with NetSuite
• Strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
• Strong familiarity with data entry
• Preferred education is an AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
• Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills
