Here’s a bit about POGO:


Here’s what you will do:


Working as part of the Health Analytics team, you will be operating in a cross-functional environment liaising with internal and external multidisciplinary stakeholders, working groups and committees in support of ongoing projects. POGO is seeking a skilled individual to join this growing team. You will:


  • Monitor project timelines, risks and deliverables, and acquiring privacy approvals;
  • Provide research and analytic support, including defining analytic questions and approaches, data queries, data preparation, analysis and interpretation, literature searches and critical appraisals, environmental scans, needs assessments, and the design, production and delivery of end products;
  • Contribute to the production of accurate and timely analyses of healthcare data and related reports, policy briefs, journal articles and presentations;
  • Provide input related to project planning, defining project success criteria through the project lifecycle, and coordinating record keeping, documentation.


Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:


  • Demonstrated ability to apply theories, concepts, methods and measures in epidemiology, population health, and knowledge of one or more of the following specialized areas: health policy, program evaluation, quality improvement, health system performance measurement, biostatistics and/or health status assessment;
  • High attention to detail, particularly when analyzing and reviewing data, resolving data anomalies, and documenting analyses and results;
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, organizational and time management skills;
  • Minimum of 1 year of practical and related work experience in applying relevant methods and population-based data analyses to answer complex health questions, support population-based research and/or support health policy advice/system planning;
  • Excellent MS Office skills (in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
  • Experience and familiarity with the use of ArcGIS (and geospatial analysis methods) is an asset.
  • Master’s degree (MSc, MPH, MHSc, or equivalent) in epidemiology, public health, health services research methodology, health economics or recognized equivalent;
  • Proficiency in conducting analyses using statistical software, SAS is preferred;
  • Action-oriented with independent problem-solving skills and ability to adjust to changing priorities as necessary;
  • Familiarity with pediatric oncology, child health and/or oncology is an asset;
  • Experience with large, population-based datasets or administrative health databases and statistical software to design and conduct data retrievals and analyses; direct experience using Ontario health administrative data preferred;
