Le Centre de santé Tulattavik de L’Ungava est situé à Kuujjuaq. Il dispense l’ensemble des services de santé et services sociaux dans la partie est du Nunavik. Il dessert sept communautés Inuites avec autant de CLSC, un centre pour personnes âgées et un centre hospitalier à Kuujjuaq. Il emploie environ 1,000 employés administrateurs, professionnels, médecins, dentistes, psychologues, infirmiers, travailleurs sociaux, personnel de soutien, employés occasionnels, etc.


Les communautés du Nunavik sont situées au nord du 55e parallèle où prévaut un climat subarctique. Il entraîne l’existence d’un pergélisol et ne permet aucune agriculture. Le Nunavik est la plus grande région couvrant environ le tiers de la superficie globale du Québec. Aucune liaison routière n’existe entre les communautés du Nunavik et le Québec méridional, ni entre les communautés du Nunavik elles-mêmes. On a accès à cette région et à ses communautés que par avion et par bateau.

SOMMAIRE DE FONCTIONS


Personne qui, sous l`autorité du directeur de la protection de la jeunesse et de ses chefs de service, exerce des activités de conception, d`évaluation, d`analyse de signalements ainsi que la conception et l’actualisation de plans d’intervention en vue de mettre fin à la situation de compromission des bénéficiaires. Elle aurait aussi à mettre en place les mesures ordonnées par la Cour ou les ententes qui font l’objet de mesures volontaires. La personne devra assurer certaines périodes de garde psychosociale. Elle devra également faire des remplacements dans les villages de la côte d’Ungava (Évaluation Régionale).


Doit obligatoirement être membre en règle de l’Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec OU de l’Ordre des psychoéducateurs et psychoéducatrices du Québec (en conformité avec la Loi 24) ;


Doit détenir un baccalauréat en sciences humaines tel que service social, criminologie ou psychoéducation


Avoir une connaissance théorique et pratique de la Loi sur la protection de la jeunesse et du concept de protection


Posséder une expérience pertinente en orientation/évaluation et en intervention auprès des enfants


Capacité de bien communiquer en anglais, en français et idéalement en inuktitut


Capacité de s`adapter à un milieu et à une culture différente


Sens de l`analyse et de la synthèse


Capacité de travailler en contexte d`urgence, d`instabilité et de pression


Capacité de travailler en équipe


Discret, autonome, empathique, diplomate, responsable, un bon sens de l`écoute et ayant de l`initiative et un bon jugement

Toute personne salariée recrutée au Québec à plus de cinquante (50) kilomètres de la localité où elle est appelée à exercer ses fonctions, aura droit aux sorties annuelles et au logement fourni selon son statut, logement partagé ou transit si la situation le requiert.


The Ungava Tulattavik Health Center is located in Kuujjuaq and offers the whole health and social services in the eastern part of Nunavik. Serving seven Inuit communities with an equal number of CLSC, a center for the elderly and the hospital in Kuujjuaq, it employs approximately 1,000 employees administrators, professionals, doctors, dentists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, support staff, etc.


Nunavik communities are located north of the 55th parallel where a subarctic climate prevails. It implies the existence of permafrost allowing no agriculture. Nunavik is the largest region covering about a third of the total area of Quebec. No road link exists between the communities of Nunavik and southern Quebec, and between Nunavik communities themselves. We have access to the region and its communities by air travel and by boat.

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS


Person whom, under the authority of the Director of Youth Protection and his Head of services, perform activities of analysis, conception and evaluation for the signalements retain and the conception and actualization of intervention plans in order to put an end to the compromising situation of beneficiaries. The person would also have to implement measures ordered be the Court or the agreements of voluntary measures. The person will assume some psychosocial on-call duty. The person will be asked to make replacements in one of the seven communities of Ungava Bay (Regional evaluation).


REQUIREMENTS


Must be a member of l’Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec OR l’Ordre des psychoéducateurs et psychoéducatrices du Québec (in accordance with Law 24)


Must withhold a Bachelor Degree in Human Sciences Social Work, Criminology or Psycho-Education


To have a practical and theoretical knowledge of Youth Protection Act and the protection concept


Possess pertinent experience in evaluation and orientation, and intervening with children


Ability to communicate correctly in English, French and ideally in Inuktitut


Ability to adapt to a different culture and environment


A sense for analysis and synthesis


Capacity to work in a context of emergency, instability and pressure


Capacity to work in a team;


Discrete, autonomous, emphatic, diplomat, responsible, with a good sense of listening, added with initiative, strictness and proper judgment


Respect for clientele; respect for authority


Available to travel


Detain a valid driver license

Any employee recruited in Québec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she/he is called upon to perform her/his duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per her/his status, shared lodging or transit if needed.
