Structure: Remote (Hybrid if located in Greater Toronto Area)

Salary Range: $14,000 - $22,000

Job Type: Part-Time (12-20 hours per week)

Our courses and designation programs help shape the future of real estate by enhancing the skills of talented professionals and business leaders. Committed to the highest professional and ethical standards, REIC has been educating and certifying specialists since 1955.

With a network of eight chapters across Canada, and seven IREM Chapter Councils, our chapters play an integral role in advancing the mission of REIC in the regional markets they serve. We have Chapters in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and Halifax.


Position Summary:

The Administrator, Chapter Operations is responsible for REIC chapter management as generally defined by the chapter and is based on the chapter’s size, location, financial resources, and needs. This can include managing the day-to-day chapter activities and administration, facilitating procedures and policies for chapter operations, event planning and support, and partnering with chapter leadership to ensure the success of the chapter by serving its members and their local community.

This position is considered a part-time role, with the opportunity to develop into a more senior and permanent role in the future. REIC Board, Committee, and ICC Support

  • Assist president in preparation of the agenda and any other printed meeting materials, including reports on financials, membership statistics, committee activities and event planning.
  • Provide administrative assistance to all officers, directors and committee chairs as requested.
  • Email board packets (agenda, minutes and requested items) prior to meeting based on timely receipt of information.
  • Maintain a current roster of officers and board members for both REIC and the IREM Chapter Council including contact information.
  • Assist secretary in distributing minutes to officers and directors.
  • Make arrangements for and attend (virtually) board meetings if required.
  • Schedule board and committee meetings as needed.
  • Liaise with the REIC National team as a proxy for the Chapter to ensure operational stability.
  • Provide support to committees by distributing information to committee members and maintaining records of committee reports and activities.
  • Work with the board to develop regional plans to support the strategic plan of REIC nationally.
  • Provide board member support and onboarding to incoming directors.

Financial & Accounting Support

  • Liaise with REIC Accounting and Finance to provide general financial reports and other information to chapter leadership.
  • Monitor any receivables and send out notices. Notify Chapter treasurer about past due or outstanding receivables.
  • Collect and report on income from dues, advertising, events and other revenue activities.
  • Assist treasurer in preparation of the annual budget.
  • Work with the REIC Accounting team to keep the general ledger according to budget line items.
  • Maintain checking and savings accounts, journals and ledgers and all information pertaining to these accounts, recording all deposits and reconciling bank statements.
  • Pay invoices in a timely manner as directed by REIC and Chapter leadership.
  • Keep bank signature cards current.
  • Provide monthly financial reports to chapter treasurer by the 15th of each month based on timely receipt of monthly bank statements.

We are looking for a person with a few other key skills:

  • Bilingualism English and French would be an asset, although not required.
  • 5+ years’ experience with administrative or operations support.
  • Experience working with professional associations and non-profits preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
