THE ROLE

The Accounting Information Systems (AIS) Specialist provides first level support to users of the Accounting systems, including but not limited to Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Business Intelligence. They troubleshoot and analyze problems, review data entry, develop and implement the best solution to the reported problems, by consulting user guides, technical manuals and other documents and determine the course of actions or escalation path to reach satisfactory resolution. They maintain access to the systems, assist with internal and external audits, assist with application upgrades as required and perform user acceptance tests to ensure that modifications are running as designed before going to production. The AIS Specialist also develop training material and standard operating procedures in consultation with other team members and consultants.

Qualifications Needed

Education, Certifications and Licenses

A demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. This includes but is not limited to demonstrated military education, training or experience.

Knowledge

Of accounting

Of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) -related or enterprise class system experience in a business / functional capacity. Oracle E-Business Suite and Business Intelligence (OBIEE), an asset

Of MS Office Tools, such as Excel and Word (Advanced skills), an asset

Experience

In a customer care environment

In maintaining, troubleshooting and supporting of accounting/financial systems on a day-to-day basis involving end users, consultants and the vendor support function as appropriate.

In maintenance and creation of business processes with finance and accounting knowledge.

In designing, developing and delivering training and development programs.

In project planning and prioritization with strong communication skills both verbal and written.

Other Information

This position has an assigned location and may allow flexible work options such as remote or hybrid work but the employee must be able to report to the assigned work location at their own cost if required. Remote work may be required depending on health and safety considerations.
